She holds a Post-graduate Certificate in Corruption studies and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration and Planning, as part of her educational history She retired from the Federal Civil Service after eight years as a Director in the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), before going into full-time consultancy on Ethics and Professional Studies.
Professor Shehu is an anti-corruption, anti-money laundering specialist. He has a rare mix of policy, law enforcement and academic experiences spanning over 28 years in the Nigerian and International Public Services. This afforded Prof. Shehu the unique privilege of addressing the UN Security Council in May 2013 on “Peace and Security in Africa: The Challenges of the fight against Terrorism in the Context of Maintaining International Peace and Security” He is a Professor of Criminology and Director of the Olusegun Obasanjo Good Governance and Development Research Centre at the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja.

His experience cuts across media, transportation, finance and auditing, where he was a member of the study team that recommended the FCT Board of Internal Revenue and pioneer head of Finance and Administration of FCT Transportation Secretariat.
